In 1975, engineers introduced the Altair 8800, one of the first commercially successful personal computers.

By modern standards, it was extraordinarily limited. It arrived without a keyboard, monitor, or familiar software interface. Programming it required entering instructions through physical switches and interpreting results through blinking lights.

The underlying technology was powerful, but power alone was not enough.

For computing to move from research laboratories and large institutions into homes, schools, and businesses, someone had to make it understandable. Someone had to translate technical capability into practical use, show people what was possible, and build the tools and experiences that allowed a much larger group of people to participate.

Artificial intelligence is approaching a similar transition.

Today, the most capable AI systems remain concentrated inside large data centers and cloud platforms. Running models locally often requires navigating incompatible frameworks, quantization formats, hardware limitations, drivers, runtimes, memory constraints, and deployment processes that were never designed for ordinary users.

The models exist. The hardware exists. The missing layer is the system that makes them work together.

Ora Frontier is being built to provide that layer.

We are creating a model compiler and local AI execution platform that allows powerful models to run efficiently on personal hardware. Ora Frontier handles the complexity between models, frameworks, runtimes, and devices so developers and users can access capable AI without depending entirely on the cloud.

Our goal is to make running a frontier model locally feel less like configuring infrastructure and more like installing software.

We are looking for a Founding GTM Engineer to help bring that future to the people and organizations that need it first.

This is a role for someone who wants to work at the intersection of engineering, product, customers, technical storytelling, partnerships, and company-building.

You will not simply explain a finished product after it has been built. You will work directly with users, help deploy Ora Frontier into real environments, discover where the product succeeds or fails, and bring those lessons directly back into engineering and product development.

You may build a customer deployment in the morning, investigate a model compatibility issue in the afternoon, and create a technical demonstration or benchmark that explains the result that evening.

You will work closely with Ora Frontier’s founders and engineering team to identify our earliest users, build technical relationships, support deployments, create compelling product narratives, and turn individual customer successes into a repeatable go-to-market system.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and engage Ora Frontier’s earliest users across AI development, software engineering, privacy-sensitive organizations, research teams, startups, enterprises, and technically sophisticated individual users.

  • Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customers’ models, workflows, hardware environments, privacy requirements, performance expectations, and deployment constraints.

  • Work directly with prospective users to determine whether Ora Frontier can improve their latency, privacy, cost, reliability, offline availability, or control over AI workloads.

  • Design and deliver technical demonstrations that show how Ora Frontier compiles, optimizes, packages, and runs models across different hardware configurations.

  • Help customers move from initial interest to a successful local deployment, including configuration, integration, benchmarking, troubleshooting, and onboarding.

  • Build prototypes, deployment scripts, reference applications, integrations, evaluation tools, and technical proof-of-concepts that help users understand and adopt Ora Frontier.

  • Translate recurring customer problems into clear product requirements for the engineering and product teams.

  • Identify where a custom customer request represents a broader product opportunity, reusable model pack, deployment template, integration, or platform capability.

  • Create benchmarks and technical evidence that demonstrate Ora Frontier’s performance across models, runtimes, memory configurations, and supported devices.

  • Develop technical content including product walkthroughs, tutorials, architecture explanations, deployment guides, benchmark reports, case studies, launch materials, and developer documentation.

  • Help explain complex subjects such as quantization, model architecture, memory usage, inference performance, runtime compatibility, and hardware tradeoffs in language that remains technically credible and understandable.

  • Build the internal systems behind Ora Frontier’s early go-to-market motion, including technical lead qualification, pilot tracking, deployment workflows, customer feedback collection, and product-usage analysis.

  • Develop relationships with model creators, open-source communities, hardware companies, AI developers, research organizations, and infrastructure partners.

  • Help design and run experiments across founder-led sales, developer communities, partnerships, technical content, product-led adoption, direct outreach, and customer referrals.

  • Turn successful customer deployments into repeatable playbooks, technical case studies, model configurations, and implementation packages.

  • Help establish the technical positioning, customer language, and market narrative that Ora Frontier will use as it defines a new category.

  • Become one of the strongest feedback loops between Ora Frontier’s users, product, engineering, and company strategy.

What success looks like

In your first 90 days, you will have developed a clear understanding of Ora Frontier’s compiler, runtime, supported model architectures, hardware environments, product roadmap, target users, and technical differentiation.

You will begin speaking directly with prospective users, supporting early product demonstrations, improving onboarding materials, and identifying the most important technical and commercial obstacles to adoption.

Within your first six months, Ora Frontier should have a growing group of active design partners and early users, a clearer understanding of its highest-value use cases, a credible library of demonstrations and technical proof points, and a repeatable process for moving users from discovery to successful deployment.

Over time, your work will help Ora Frontier develop a durable go-to-market engine built around technical trust, exceptional customer outcomes, respected educational content, strong ecosystem relationships, and a product that improves through direct contact with the market.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 3+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, developer relations, technical product, forward-deployed engineering, technical sales, AI infrastructure, or another highly technical customer-facing role.

  • Has strong software engineering fundamentals and is comfortable building prototypes, integrations, internal tools, deployment scripts, and customer-facing applications.

  • Is highly capable with Python and familiar with modern APIs, developer tooling, Git, Linux environments, cloud infrastructure, and software deployment workflows.

  • Has experience working with machine-learning models, developer infrastructure, data platforms, AI products, or technically complex software.

  • Can understand a technical system deeply enough to debug problems and earn the trust of experienced engineers.

  • Can communicate technical ideas clearly to developers, founders, executives, partners, researchers, and non-specialist users.

  • Is comfortable moving between code, customer conversations, documentation, product strategy, and commercial execution.

  • Can translate customer feedback into specific technical requirements rather than simply forwarding feature requests.

  • Has strong written communication and can produce technical content that is accurate, useful, and compelling.

  • Is comfortable operating without a predefined playbook and can design processes while actively executing them.

  • Has a strong bias toward shipping, measuring, learning, and improving.

  • Is willing to ask for the pilot, follow up consistently, resolve deployment blockers, and take responsibility for whether a customer succeeds.

  • Wants meaningful ownership over how Ora Frontier finds its users, explains its technology, and builds its earliest market.

Especially valuable, but not required:

  • Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, ONNX, GGUF, llama.cpp, MLX, CUDA, ROCm, Metal, TensorRT, or other model and inference tooling.

  • Experience running or optimizing language, vision, audio, multimodal, or embedding models on local hardware.

  • Familiarity with quantization, pruning, model conversion, memory optimization, batching, caching, inference engines, or hardware acceleration.

  • Experience benchmarking GPUs, CPUs, NPUs, Apple Silicon, consumer hardware, workstations, or edge devices.

  • Experience building developer tools, infrastructure products, open-source software, or products sold to highly technical users.

  • Experience serving as a forward-deployed engineer, solutions architect, developer advocate, technical founder, founding engineer, or early product engineer.

  • Experience working directly with enterprise engineering teams, research organizations, AI startups, or privacy-sensitive customers.

  • Experience creating technical tutorials, demonstrations, open-source projects, engineering blogs, benchmark reports, or developer documentation.

  • Experience launching a product before there was a mature sales, marketing, customer success, or developer-relations organization.

  • Existing relationships within AI development, open-source, developer tooling, hardware, research, or technical startup communities.

  • Experience building systems that connect customer activity, product telemetry, deployment status, and commercial outcomes.

What this role is not

This is not a traditional account executive position where you inherit a mature pipeline, established territory, polished sales materials, and a predictable quota model.

It is not a conventional marketing role focused primarily on campaigns, paid acquisition, or brand awareness.

It is not a solutions role where a finished product is handed to you and your responsibility begins only after a contract has been signed.

You will help determine who the customer is, what problem matters most, how the product should be demonstrated, what must be built for adoption, and which motions can become repeatable.

You will need to be comfortable writing code, speaking with users, investigating technical failures, creating content, supporting deployments, and asking directly for commercial commitment.

The boundaries of the role will evolve as the company grows. The responsibility for creating customer value will not.

Why Ora Frontier

AI is becoming more powerful, but access to that power remains highly centralized.

Developers and organizations increasingly rely on external providers to process sensitive information, operate critical workflows, and access models they do not fully control. Cloud infrastructure will remain important, but it should not be the only way capable AI can be used.

People should be able to run powerful models privately.

They should be able to operate without permanent connectivity, understand where their data is processed, choose the hardware they use, and avoid rebuilding their entire infrastructure whenever a new model or framework appears.

Achieving that requires more than placing an interface around an open-source model.

The Founding GTM Engineer will help ensure that this technology does not remain an impressive technical system understood only by its creators. You will help turn it into a product people can adopt, trust, deploy, and build around.
